21:24. அதற்குத் தாவீது ராஜா ஒர்னானை நோக்கி: அப்படியல்ல, நான் உன்னுடையதை இலவசமாய் வாங்கி, கர்த்தருக்குச் சர்வாங்க தகனத்தைப் பலியிடாமல், அதை பெறும் விலைக்கு வாங்குவேன் என்று சொல்லி,

21:24. ஆனால் தாவீது அரசன், "இல்லை, நான் உனக்கு முழு விலையையும் தருவேன். நான் உனக்குரிய எதையும் எடுத்து கர்த்தருக்கு கொடுக்கமாட்டேன். இலவசமாக எதையும் எடுத்து காணிக்கை செலுத்தமாட்டேன்" என ஓர்னாவிடம் கூறினான்.

21:24. King David replied to Ornan, "No, I insist on buying it for top price. I will not offer to the LORD what belongs to you or offer a burnt sacrifice that cost me nothing.
